Catharsis

There’s so much sadness
Penned between the horizontal lines
That cut across this page—
Toxic ink lashes out
And I wait for the edges of the paper to sear,
Burn, be reduced to ash,
But instead, the sour thoughts that I scrawl
Left to right
Are absorbed and obliterated.

  1. Interesting perspective in words … “Toxic ink lashes out” Yes I believe poetry can be one of the instruments of choice to speak out and against even to the point of using a secret code. Nice poetic words.
